New Daycare

Today is a trial run at the new daycare. There were tears by Jillian when I left and I have not called. I do believe she is fine and will be picking her up in less than an hour. Short day today. Hopefully the report I get when I go to get her will be good.

There is construction in front of our house and since Saturday night have witnessed 4 cars crash into the blockades that the City has put up to warn people of the giant hole in the street. How can one miss a flashing orange and white blockade? I will never know. But how does a police officer miss the signals for one lane ahead and crash into the blockades? And no, he did not circle around and set up the blockades. He stopped 3 houses down to check his car and was off. As I was on the phone with the non emergency number at the police station, another car almost went into the giant hole in front of the house. But thankfully some good Samaritan teenagers saw the cop, saw us outside came over to upright the signs.

So, yes, I saw a police officer commit a hit and run. And no, I did not get a licence plate. He was too far down the street and I was in my jammies.

Happy Thursday! I am hoping to get some scrapbooking done this afternoon while J is napping and tonight after CSI. Hopefully I'll have new layouts to show you tomorrow.

Cha-Cha-Changes

Makes me think of Shrek every time. Obviously, there is a little too much Shrek going on in my life right now. Terrible.

But my little monkey is going through some big changes. I cannot believe the attitude adjustment that came from her since quitting the day care. Really. Seriously. Wow. She just always had this attitude. This sassiness about her. She would throw fits and just would hit and act out. And eating out in ANY restaurant was hell. Pure hell. I've had food thrown at me. Silverware thrown at me. Temper tantrums. It was to the point where we did not go out at all. I was thinking it was a stage and part of it could have been. But wow.

Last night I was craving the Oriental Chicken Salad from Applebee's. I needed it. I've needed it all pregnancy. So, cringing at the thought of taking Jillian into Applebee's for a dinner, I bit the bullet. I told Andy - let's give it a shot. And WOW! The monkey ate nicely. Sat in her booster seat nicely. Drank her milk nicely. Colored nicely. Nothing was thrown. She followed directions - I asked her to taste her burger by dipping it in ketchup and just having a little taste. And she did it. She did not eat any of it by fries and chocolate milk, but she did it. WOW. I left there feeling like I had a good meal. I felt proud and not embarrassed of my little hellion.

And we interviewed a sitter yesterday. Right now, she has 2 boys of her own - 8 & 10 and is watching a 2 year old boy. She is willing to take on J and the new baby. I got a good vibe from her. She sat down and played blocks with Jillian. J was all smiles, shy smiles, but smiles and was very interested in what the older boys were doing outside. Yes, my peanut thinks she can run with the big boys! So we are giving it a shot on Thursday. I asked J if she wanted to go back and if she thought she could do it and she nodded a hesitant yes. We'll see.

Off to get ready for the day. I have a little project in the works for a friend and cannot wait to get started!! I also need to put a freeze on my scrapbooking spending. Ah, well. And my nasty virus is gone. Thanks to phone support from Norton. No chat support EVER for me. Cost me money, but it is GONE. Now I just need a refund from Norton for the crappy chat service.

Happy Wednesday! Watch Criminal Minds if you get the chance. Fab show. I heart it. :)

Monday, Monday

Where did my weekend go? Right out the window I tell ya.

Saturday I had to run into work to do some make-up from time missed during the week due to illness and issues. Then we had Jillian's photos taken. They turned out so well. Her all dressed up in her Badger Cheerleading outfit. Pigtails and all. She did well. I have discovered that the no pressure approach to photos is the best with her. Just let her go. Sit her down, stand back and hope the photog gets the shot!

And then Saturday night, I realized our computer contracted a virus that Norton is not getting rid of fully. It is very harmful and effects IE browsers. So all of Saturday night I was busy scanning and checking and downloading and it continued well into Sunday. Sunday night I finally contacted Tech support at Norton (a pretty penny later!) and it is still there. It is in the form of AUDIO. Ads come on when browsing the internet. I am so done with IE. I am now using Firefox and will be urging hubby to use it as well. Hopefully tomorrow morning - EARLY! Like before dawn! I can get on with the tech support at Norton again and try to get this resolved. UGH! My next option is to save off everything and strip the harddrive and start from scratch. Yeah, that is going to suck big time. So time consuming!

Sunday was the final Brewer's Homegame of the season. Wow. Did the summer fly by? Jillian did so well at the game. She just has been behaving so much better when we are out and about. Now, eating out is a different story, but I am hoping that will get better, too. We all had fun at the game - walked away with free T-shirts and free tickets to next year's game.

Oh, yeah. Sunday was a trip to Labor and Delivery. I had some spotting when I woke up on Sunday morning. Scared me. Called the doc and went to the hospital. Jillian was so well behaved there, too. We were only in for an hour. Dunno what caused it, but baby is a-okay. I am thinking that I will not make it to December 5th. I am thinking that I'll just get to December first and will have to go in. Just my gut. We'll see. My gut also says girl again, lately. I thought it was a boy at first since this is so different that Jillian's pregnancy, but I am thinking girl.

We all are still battling colds at the house hold. Mine seems to be getting better whereas Andy is getting worse. Icky! Jillian seems to be doing okay. I just wish these teeth would pop through and we'd be done with it! She is still boogery and coughing. One more week and I'm taking her in.

Hardly did ANY scrapping. Spent most of my time trying to repair the computer. I am so itching for some creative outlet. It is driving me nuts!!!

Weight Check

We went for a weight check yesterday and my hopes of this being the last one were smashed as I was shown "the curve." Basically, Jillian is no where in the curve of the weight and height chart and really - never has been besides her birth weight. Their not concerned with that. What they are concerned with is that her weight has plateaued. Funny - I usually talk of a plateau when I am trying to lose weight. . . So we are to try to boost her calories ASAP. We have a month. After a month, we go for another check. If the caloric boost is not helping, then more tests will be run or she'll be put on a prescription to increase her appetite.

*sigh*

With all that has happened this week, I was looking for a little sunshine. Well, my days are still dark and cloudy. We are all still sick. Still looking for child care. Still battling weight issues. Man, I wish some sunshine will pop in here soon.

TGIF. Have a great weekend.

Got her

I left shortly after posting. I just could not take it. I showed up unannouced and got her. I am calling places and have an interview tonight. I am calling a friend for tomorrow. I cannot let her go back there. I will talk to the provider and tell her the situation.

Downhill Fast

What started off to be a good day went downhill fast. I witness Jillian get hit by the day care provider's son as she was getting her diaper changed. I stood there in shock. I was frozen. Granted he is autistic, but still. I should have done more to protect my child. I left her crying an soon broke into tears, myself, on my way out the door. I am still crying.

I am this close to getting her. My boss said it was okay for me to leave.

Have You Ever?

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you can taste it? Something that would just make you happy and would be one of the best chances ever, but afraid to get your hopes up and get let down? Have you ever wanted something so bad, but everyone else wants the same thing? Have you ever hated waiting to find out if you get this "thing"?

I have and am.

I hate waiting and I am impatient. I hate getting my hopes up, so I am doing my best NOT to. Only time will tell.
But, you have to see these layouts I posted today. I just love them both. I feel like I am really coming up with a style of scrapping I like. I realize that I don't have to keep with the same designer/kit/elements on all my layouts. And I love it! Sure it is hell to write down all the credits, but oh well. And can you believe these are template pages?!? Really. Someone else created them and I added my touches. And I am in love with arrows lately.

It was nice to get back into scrapping. The only problem is that with all my CTs, it took me almost 2 hours to post everything. Ugh. Oh well. I did not get to any scrapping tonight, but rather painted Jillian's items for her room.

Oh and I think I have the crud that Jillian passed onto me. My nose is running like a faucet and I feel like poop. I need a hot cup of tea, a shower and to go upstairs into bed to read a scrapping mag. I think I need to pick up the newest CK on Friday. I do have a Micheals coupon.

Good night all.

Feeling Refreshed

It is amazing what a good night's sleep with do for the body and soul! Jillian slept through the night without a peep. I slept fairly well and woke once with heartburn, but Tums cured that in a flash. Rolling over is difficult, but I still felt like I got a good night's sleep. Finally.

Jillian started to feel better after her 2 hour nap yesterday. She sounds like she has lost her voice, but maybe that means it is all losening up in her chest. That is a good thing. She was spunky and sassy and just herself yesterday afternoon and night. She got into the paint can last night and daddy had to quickly rush her downstairs to wash her off. Yeah. She is feeling better.

We worked on her room last night. I finished priming her letters for her wall and the hooks I bought at Micheals. Andy finished painting her window seat box and installing the hinges. The hinges are so cool. The open nicely and stay open and they allow the lid to close without snapping down. Fabulous for little fingers. He is going to paint the edges purple today and I will finish her letters and hooks (or at least start them!). We still need an armoir in there and blinds. Curtains I am still deciding on. I think I'll make pink valences and order the sheers I saw on Lillian Vernon. I need to order Butterflies to hand from the ceiling, too. Then it is a matter of just cleaning out the room, dusting and mopping the floor. We should pick up her big girl bed on Monday. Maybe I can get her to nap in it on Tuesday and call it "her room." We'll see, though.

Update on J

She's fine. Teething the doctor said, combined with a slightly pink throat. (Isn't it pink to begin with?) Tylenol and love will cure all. No shots for the 18 month appointment (that was today, too. Just luck that we got sick on the same day.) and she is on the small side. *duh* The kid is destined to be small. Their measurements were 17 lbs 11 oz and 29" tall. She is not even on the charts for weight, but is the 5th percentile for height. And again, she rocks the chart with her head circumfrance. 75th percentile for head.

Hopefully, our final weight check at Children's will be on Thurday. We feed her. She eats. She is a high energy kid. What more can we do about it?

Off to put in the roast.

Weekend udate and a sick kiddo

Jillian has been running a fever of 102 since Friday night. Like Friday late night. It just is there and now she has this raspy cough and I think her throat hurts. We had an 18 month check up scheduled for today at 4, but I am calling in 20 minutes to try to get it this morning instead.

Our weekend therefore consisted of sleepless nights, a monkey in the middle and some early morning Old School Wiggles. Also not being able to get anything done around the house and plenty of movies. Fun.

It came to my attention Friday late night, that my hubby thinks I spend too much time on the computer. When he comes home from work, this is where I am and nights I spend scrapbooking. I have not touched my scrapbooking stuff since Friday and quite frankly I am going nuts. I plan on trying to come up with some harmony between the two. Not to mention that when he finds me here - the dishes are done and laundry is done and the monkey is napping and dinner is started. Nothing of which is done when I find him on the computer when I get home from work. So this is something I need to try to improve on. Yeah. The weekend sucked big time. The other thing he brought up was that if I am not on the computer I am watching one of my TiVoed shows. Hello. I am 29 weeks pregnant and spend most of my day chasing an 18 month old. I am not in any mood to be washing the floors by 3:30/4 pm in the afternoon. As you can tell there is a lot of unresolved feelings here.

I am off to call the doctor and look for somethings for Jillian's new room. I want to sew some valances, but also want to get some sheers for her windows that I saw at Lillian Vernon. We'll see if they are still in stock.

TGIF!

Yahoo! TGIF everyone. It has been a lazy day here so far. We are still in our jammies and unshowered. Unheard of for J and I.

I wanted to finish a layout this morning and get it posted, but my computer is acting funny. I desperately need to back everything up. I desperately need to purchase a DVD burner. Now to convince Andy that I need one NOW is another story. That is my goal for this weekend. To get one and get everything backed up.
I did finish the layout I wanted. It is for the DigiDare #3 up now on the web.

I had it started, but it was missing a title and some other odds and ends. It was 98% done (give or take). Those DigiDare girls really helped out. So I added the cute quote by Dr. Seuss and basically all those elements on the star. The sketch is from Jen Caputo and the kit is from Leah Riordan. Cute kit, huh? It is called Geek Chic. I just love the colors. You can read all the credits here.

I also finished this layout last night:

How cute is that? I just love the way this turned out. I love all the little things that make this page special. And the photos of J. Whata gal. Yeah, the next photo in this series is her trying to lift up my shirt. She thinks my belly button is funn and pokes it. Hard. It is pretty funny looking. It popped out this time around. It did not do that with J. Actually, I am carrying a whole lot differently than J. Anyways - read all the credits here. I used a kit from Amy Teets and then added a lot. So read all about it.

I better get going and start my day. We have some errands to run and I am thinking of taking J to the zoo to run around. I'll be hurting by the end of our walk, but I was told Ineeded to walk more. Plus someone has the stinkiest diaper and I am gagging here. Have a happy Friday and an AWESOME weekend. *mwah*

Not Just Another Thursday

Nope! Survivor starts tonight. There supposedly is a "big to-do" about this one. Teams are separated by race. Big deal. I really don't mind. Mark Burnett is just tossing things around and mixing it up. No one made a big to-do about teams being separated by age or by sex? Right? So this is just another one of Mark Burnett's experiments on human beings. I am just happy to see more of a "mix" in there. And I am just happy it is on again. Go Survivor!

So Gina Miller is having a guest CT kinda-call. She just has her eyes open and checking out galleries and such. You know how hard I am sitting my pregnant butt on my hands and trying not to email her? Yeah. It is driving me insane. Ah. I'll just try to keep my mind off of it. :)

I started this last night:

Can I just tell you how much I love this paper pack by Jennifer Layden? Oh my word. And she added elements. See that flower? Yeah - you are seeing it at 72 DPI. Imagine all its glory at 300 dpi. So go. Check out her stuff. There are more credits to the layout here.

And yes. I cannot believe I am 28 weeks. How bittersweet.

{Upset my Routine}

It stormed all day yesterday. I knew it was going to rain so instead of being stuck inside all day watching the Wiggles, I packed J up into the van and we went to play at the mall. I needed to search for jeans for Andy at Kohl's and the second nearest Kohl's is in the mall. Perfect!

What a nut. I am proud to say that J has mastered the slide. Climb up, sit at top, go down, get out of the way. Before it was climb up and hog the top of the slide like the princess she is. A small victory for this mommy. Funny, huh? I was so proud I was clapping for her. She was running around like a crazy lady. Spinning in circles and trying to jump. It was good for her. I was worn out because of the walk - man 12 weeks cannot come soon enough! And of course there has to be ONE bully in the bunch of kids. Yep, that little girl stepped on J and rammed into kids. The mom sat there doing nothing. Gotta love it.

J was great going to Kohl's with a little bribing of fruit snacks. I found new jeans and cords to last throughout the last 12 weeks and beyond. And I did find jeans for Andy.

We came home, had lunch and I was ready to scrap. BUT a giant storm rolled through while J was napping and I had to shut it all down. Bummer. I got one page done, but was really hoping to finish up the Ultrasound pages and a few others.

Andy was gone until 10 PM for a retirement party, so doing the bath, dinner, night-time thing was taxing on me, so I sat my butt on the couch for most of it. J and I caught "Dancing with the Stars" and ate cheerios together. I just had no will to do anything. Poo. Hopefully I'll get to more scrapping tonight. I have a lot to do.

Happy Wednesday. Almost to the weekend. Lets hope this rain passes. I need me some sunshine.

{I won!}

I won Tiff Brady's little Random Scraps contest - see my post below. How cool is that. I get whatever I want of Tiff's stuff for a month. :) Rock on. I am off to shop and nabb me some stuff. I had my eye on her felt scraps for a while. :)

{Weekend Update}

Man, what a long weekend. Busy, busy, busy. I guess the busyness started on Thursday with a birthday party for Andy's nephew. As Andy commented - He's never heard so much crying at a Birthday Party. How funny is that? Funny thing is/was, J was the culprit as was the birthday boy. We are going through a hissy fit stage where she gets her way or erupts in tears. The birthday boy was just being 3 and a boy. It happens.

Friday we finally went out for our anniversary. I enjoyed myself so much. A great meal and I mean GREAT. We went to Mo's again as we did on our first Anniversary. No bottle of wine for us this time, though. I must have drank 5 ice teas. Man do I love my ice teas lately! We each had a great steak, great sides, awesome dessert and more importantly - GREAT conversation without talking over crying or trying to entertain J. J was lucky enough to be taken to McDonald's with K. And when we came home, she was very excited to see us, yet kept giving K hugs. I love this age with the hugginess. Really.

Saturday was Andy's sister's wedding. Fabulous time. Different wedding - she had a Man of Honor and he had a Best Woman, but really it was fun. Minor drama as to be expected with Andy's family, but we had fun. Did not dance much as I feel walking is hard enough right now, but had my slow dances with Andy.
Sunday was catch up on laundry and sleep on the couch. Oh and watch the Packers lose. Hey Packer Fans - it is going to be a long season. Be prepared to only win 4 games this year. Yes, I said 4. Watch something better - like Peyton Manning. Those are usually great games.
I have to show off a few layouts that I just love. The first was for a challenge that Tiff Brady (blog, store) had on her blog. I was to use all these random scraps and make a layout. Well, I love it!!

You can read all the credits here! There are too many to list. But I just love that photo of J. Love how the bright elements combined with the dark paper just work.

And then I have this one:

All the credits are here. This one I did for the Digi-Dare. What's a digi-dare? Well it is a fun weekly challenge and you collect points for prizes at the end of the month. How fun is that? And I mean it is really outside the box type things. This week was song and "How you touched my life." Obviously, my layout is about singing to J. I don't sing. I am horrible at it, yet I sing to her all the time. Click on this link and my journaling is all outlined for you in the credits.

It is raining here today. I need to get to the polls and vote this morning, but not looking forward to balancing a toddler, a belly and an umbrella. We also are heading to the mall to play. And pick up new jeans for daddy. How fun, huh? I need to start my day and wake a monkey. Have an awesome Tuesday and VOTE!!

{Updates. Stuff. Vent.}

So I passed my gestational diabetes test with "flying colors" as my doctor put it. Yippy skippy. He actually thought of me while at a wedding over the weekend. How weird, yet reassuring at the same time. He was thinking of my test and if I retook it. See why I love him and have followed him (okay, stalked him) at his new place. And I tell all my friends about him, too.

All is well with the Deuce. I am measuring a week ahead (nooooo.....baby CANNOT be born in November as it screws up my Mother's ring!!) and I go back in 4 weeks and then we are bi-weekly. My tailbone hurts like hell and I am call the chiropractor right after this.

J is testing my limits. I know that. I tell myself this. Yet it gets to me. She slept like poop again last night. Not fun. Hubby held her in the chair all night long. Greeeeeaaaattttt. She slept, but was up at 4:45 AM when she realized daddy was no longer there. Not a happy momma. At.All. I just hope tonight is better.

We have a pizza party for A's nephew tonight and then I HAVE to make sure I am home and in front of the computer by 9 PM {CST}. Gina Miller is having a chat tonight. This woman rocks. Her designs rock. Her blog is wonderful and she is more obsessed with Target than me. Makes for a great "excuse" for me when my hubby questions my Target excursions. Teeeheeeeheee.

Some fun new stuff and ON SALE!

Look at this cute layout I did:

It uses a brand new kit from Jennifer Layden exclusively at the The Digi Shoppe. There are more credits that can be read here, but I just love the colors of this kit. The kit's name is Brody - obviously a boy kit, but I so made it work for J here. She has a super cute kit named Kristin (girlie girl) available at TDS, too, and here is a mini sample of it:

Isn't the rainbow cute?!?! Oh and the sale has been extended through FRIDAY. Yipppeeeee!! She just uploaded some fall papers, too. So check those out. Really, fabulous and fun stuff. The details in the embellies is awesome.

Alrighty - shop, shop, shop! Have fun and I would love to see the layouts you do with these kits. Leave a comment with a linkie.
