Susan's Scraplifts! :) Scroll down past #22.
Next my pimpin' - have you
seen this?
Have you bought it? Help out MandaBean's mom and help in the fight of breast cancer.
tired momma
I am so tired this morning. Coming home late was not bad enough and going to bed around 11 PM on a Sunday wasn't the worst of it. J needed milk - AGAIN - at 1:00 AM. I was up and restless anyways, so I gave it to her. I just wish we'd find her sleeping through the night consistently again. I am guessing, though, that teeth and a growth spurt play a roll in this.
And the going to bed around 11 PM. Why? Why on a Sunday night? Well, we had awesome tickets to Lyle Lovett. Awesome. It was at the
casino in town. We had balcony seats, but the stage and the place are so intimate that we could see him really well. A and I had a great time. Lyle is fantastic. His big band - percussion, drums, upright bass, violin, ukelea (spelling?), piano, steel guitar, bass, horns, gospel singers - all are fab. Simply wonderful. Lyle is such a great story teller and singer that listening to him in person is so much better than any CD. And, yes, we were the youngest people in the crowd. How fun is that?
The monkey is awake. I need to get ready for work and I need more coffee. It is going to be a long Monday.
2BScrapped is closing its doors
Just got saw
this post on the forum. I'll have to get some of my better layouts over to DST pronto.
all is well
The Deuce's heart is a-okay. We saw as much of it as we could since the little bugger was laying on his or her tummy the entire time. The tech did not get to see Deuce's face or all of the heart very well. So. . . we get to go back.
I am also surprised that I am not bruised all over my tummy! She poked and prodded with the ultrasound wand to try to get the baby to move. And man was baby pissed off. You could see on the screen that every time she pushed and poked, the baby would start kicking ferociously and hitting and then settle down to sleep again. I have decided to drink a small glass of juice and eat a candy bar before the next ultrasound in 2 weeks.
I am also debating on inviting my parents. I don't think they've ever seen anything like this and it will be there last time (probably) for me. And with my sister K, who knows.
I am also reporting today that August will be my last month as a creative team member for 2BScrapped. There is a lot happening over there that makes me unsure of the site and its future. It is not what I signed up for. So this month is my last month of being a CT member over there. I will remain on Jen's and Leah's teams. No worries there.
Off to wake up the monkey. She slept well (FINALLY) last night. Thus, momma and daddy slept well and actually momma overslept. Joy of Joys.
spreading the plague one sippy cup at a time
I am gonna ask for a little blog-reader participation here, folks.
Here's the scoop.
You and your child of 16 months are swimming at the public pool. It is a small wading pool for kids under 5 years old. You pack the stroller complete with backpack of snacks and toys and you each have a sippy cup. You have your 32 ouncer filled with water and your child has a sippy cup located in the front of the stroller also filled with water. The stroller is parked near a bench and 2 other strollers in the shade.
You leave the stroller to go and play with your child in the pool. You glace up occasionally at the stroller {just a momma or daddy reflex}. On one occasion, you see another small child playing with your child's sippy cup. You watch her drink out of it. You continue to watch her drink out your child's cup. That child's mother finally notices her child drinking out of YOUR child's sippy cup. She takes said cup away and places it back in the stroller.
You continue to play in the pool with your child.
After a while, your child gets board and wants a snack and a drink. You walk over to the stroller. {Obviously, YOU are the owner of said stroller and sippy cup}. You put your toys away and grab a snack. You sit down on bench next stroller and near other mother and child. You proceed to have snack and drink out of your cup {both you and your child}. Other mother never says anything to you about said sippy cup and "the incident."
Now for my blog participation question - If rolls were reversed - would you have spoken up about the sippy cup? BE 100% honest.
Besides spreading the love one sippy cup at a time, Monkey J is doing well. Done with whatever was making her toss her bananas {literally}, but still dealing with bouts of the fever. Last night was hell. Up at 10 pm, 11 pm, some other time between then and 4 AM. *sigh* What am I going to do with 2? Mommas have an innate ability to roll with the punches as far as sleep deprivation. Daddies, in my case, do not. My partner needs sleep. He also needs to eat on a regular basis. I do, too, but I can skip a meal or two to care for a child.
Anyways.
We get to see the Deuce today! My ultrasound with the perinatal specialist is today. Pray that the Deucie's heart is a-okay, puh-leaze. We had a slight scare at 7 weeks and an even bigger scare with A's niece having heart issues that the docs never caught. Ever. Never Ever until the little bitty was a month old. That little girl is LUCKY. Seriously. So, we are covering our bases and hoping all is well.
And no, I guess we are NOT finding out if the Deuce has a penis or not. I would love to this time around (for some odd reason), but A does not. He said I can wait. I say I get to bitch all I want now. Fair, right? This just means Deucie gets gender neural items for Christmas, Grandma will have to hold off putting a name on a stocking, I'll need to buy 2 outfits for Christmas and so on and so on. Whatever.
But A guesses that the Deuce is a boy as do I. This pregnancy could not be more opposite of J. People say that all the time. "Each Pregnancy is different, blah, blah, blah." But in all honesty - COMPLETELY opposite of J. I could list all the differences here, but that would take forever and I have other schtuff to do - but the BIGGEST thing is that I was sick up until 18 weeks. Yes, folks. 18 weeks and still tossing my cookies into the porcelain god.
But the upside - I've gained a whopping.
*drum roll puhleaze.....*
6 pounds.
DAMN. If I keep this up, after the baby is born, I'll be back to pre-prego weight after a WEEK of breastfeeding. Not back into my clothes, but down in weight. I hate the flabby after baby belly. Blech, but love the benefits of breastfeeding.
My Monkey is fine
J is fine. Just a stomach virus thingy. She had a fever all day yesterday of the 103/104 range and it broke last night late. She of course was up a ton last night, but we survived. Her fever is down today and just hovering around 100. Not bad. Although she is super clingy and whiney. Fab-U-LOUS, huh?
Have you seen my new blinkie unter Creative Teams? Have ya? Have ya? Damn skippy! I am a member of Leah Riordan's team with Mommyish Designs. Whatta bunch of crazies she has designing for her. And believe me, all these ladies would be honored to be called crazy bia-tches. F*U*N. She sells at
DigiScrappin and
OScraps. OScraps will be doing an over haul, so stay tuned & DigiScrappin is under new ownership.
Well, today is humid and the sun is starting to pop through the clouds. I think a trip to the wading pool is in order! What else could a mommy want? It is free. *ding* We are outside. *ding* Momma gets to show off her smoking 21 week pregnant body. *ding* And J gets worn out and takes a 2 hour nap afterwards. *double ding*
Sick Monkey
I have a sick monkey today. Poor girl has a fever of 102, threw up 3 times (nothing by phlemg) and just is icky. We are off to the doctor. I guess the flu is going around. Who knew the flu would be a summer thang? I didn't. But she just is not right.
Arrrr. Pirates.
So see below where a few of my links to scrapbooking pages are missing? Yeah. That is because the entire 2BScrapped site is down. Someone or some people direct linked a freebie in a Yahoo group. So thousands or more people have been stealing bandwidth. Great. That means I lose out. My main gallery is down. I cannot download a kit or two that I need to finish a layout for my challenge in 2 weeks. Not only me, but the vast 2B community loses out. It is supposed to be up today. It is 2:00 PM CST. I am not holding me breath.
This whole piracy thing that runs rampant through the digital community brings me to two points that I do not understand. This often happens with Yahoo Groups. First, I have never heard or seen anything good come out of a Scrapbooking Yahoo groups. If a designer wants me to post on one or join one as a requirement, I will not apply for that CT position. I was a member once of one. I forget the name. I hated it. The freebies were junk and I did not learn anything new. And it filled my Yahoo Email with useless emails. Ick.
Second. The sharing of freebies. Now, if a designer has a freebie on his or her blog and posts a message on a board about it - that is one thing and perfectly fine. If the reader of said board then posts a message on a different board about said freebie or passes it along in an email or on their own blog, to me that is wrong. Seems like a form of piracy to me, although a lot less than stealing bandwidth and direct linking. Let people find freebies themselves.
If you want to read more on piracy -
here is a great source.
In other news.
I found what I want on my mother's ring. I am super excited about it. Have been since I got married. See, my engagement ring is a one of a kind design that my lovely hubby picket out all himself. My wedding band is also one of a kind and made to shadow my engagement ring. My mother's ring will go above my engagement ring. Super cool, huh? Need a photo do ya? (I'll work on it!)
So the Deuce is due in December and that birthstone is a deep blue. I saw one today when at the jewelry shop getting my ring cleaned and polished. And J's birthstone is a light blue (March). I am a diamond and Andy is a sapphire. Anyone catching on yet? I am going to have them make a cool ring starting at deep blue (sapphire) to white (diamond). How cool is that? How gorgeous will that be? So stunning sitting atop my diamond engagement ring which sits atop my funky angled wedding band with 2 diamonds in it.
Watch. Deucie will arrive in November. November's stone is citrine. Yes, people. ORANGE!
Ask and ye shall recieve!
Can I tell you how much
Digi Shop Talk ROCKS? It is like, THE place to be if you are anyone in the scrapping world. Really.
So I've had this dilemma since March. I cannot find a cute birthday kit for all of J's First Birthday photos. It needs to be bright, funky and fun. Just like her.
I go straight to the source for all things Digital and Scrapbooking - DST! I ask about great birthday kits and I get a bunch of them.
Decisions.Decisions. I am leaning towards:

And that is fount at ACOT by Dani Mogstad and then these doodles:

And those are found at PDW and are by Jen Flores.
If you want to be nice to me and send me a Happy 20 weeks of Pregnancy present - you can buy me this and this. Also the Gold Membership to DST would be nice. I'll beg for that from Andy anyways! :)
How do I?
How do I get my child to drink her milk before bed? Somedays, like 98% of the time, she will drink her milk and carnation instant breakfast before bed. She'll drink 6-8 oz of it. Other nights, she will not. Thus, she wakes up with an empty belly at 3:30 AM. Who feeds her? I do. Who then cannot get back to sleep? Me.
So how do I force her to drink milk before bed? We eat at the same time daily (5/5:30 PM) and she gets no after dinner snacks. With the baby on the way, I really do not want to be getting up with her. We have 20 weeks to fix this issue.
I scrapped last night! Yippee!

I love how they both turned out. I am slowly chipping away at the pile in her folder. Mind you, I have not added any new photos to that folder. I also have forgotten about the late pregnancy photos of me carrying her. Joy of joys.
I applied to 2 more creative teams and stepped down from one. It is nerve wracking. Much like applying for a job. We'll see what comes about. I would be honored to be on these two ladies' teams.
That is it in scrapping news for me! A is working on Saturday and J and I will be visiting G&G for some shopping fun. I need my wedding ring and engagement ring checked out and cleaned. Sunday is painting J's room. A will be painting. I will be chasing a monkey around the house. Maybe we'll head to the zoo for a few hours. I also need to get housework done. Joy of joys. I cannot scrap when I get home this afternoon until I do some housework. I am off to make my list.
Happy Thursday, ya'll.
Pimpin' A Good Cause
Mother's with daughters all want their little girls to grow up to be confident in themselves and find their inner or true beauty. If you think like this, then look at this:

Please stop by the shop and help us support the Dove Real Beauty Fund. All proceeds from this huge collaborative kit will be donated! and a contest! Who doesn't love presents and prizes?
Please stand by. . . .
Okay. First off. I need to keep up with this thing. Secondly, I need to start incorporating some Scrapbooking Designs and talk about what is taking up a pretty big portion of my life right now.
So.
Please stand by while I do some maitence. Recreate a template. Do an overhaul on the blog.
Thanks.
